We exist to build a sector that is truly accountable to the people it exists for.

Social Justice Collective exists because we believe social purpose organisations can and must be part of dismantling the unjust systems they were built within and often shaped by. More than that, we believe they can be genuine catalysts for wider social and sector transformation. We are a collective of people of colour - organisational change experts, coaches, facilitators, and activists - who have spent our careers working at the intersection of professional expertise and personal commitment to justice. We work in solidarity with the organisations and communities we support: not as external experts parachuting in, but as people with a genuine, shared stake in the change we are working towards together.

Our values

  • Anti-oppressive

We centre the experiences, knowledge and voices of marginalised people in everything we do. We focus on power — not just identity — and see all systems of oppression as interlinked. We resist approaches that ask marginalised people to simply adapt to systems that were never built for them.

  • Joy

We believe the process of working towards justice can itself be generative and sustaining - particularly for those who carry this work most heavily. Joy arises from transformation, from solidarity, from understanding our own power to create change. We do not use it as an excuse to avoid discomfort.

  • Liberating

We seek liberation — not improved management of oppression. We approach this work with creativity and curiosity rather than fear, and we move towards bold possibilities collectively. The goal is not a more inclusive version of the current system, but something fundamentally reimagined.

  • Real

This work is not an intellectual exercise. It requires vulnerability — including ours. We are committed to unlearning as well as learning, to genuine accountability, and to being honest with ourselves and others even when that is uncomfortable. We do not ask less of ourselves than we ask of the organisations we work with.
