We run an event series called the SJC Circle, which provides a regular space for those committed to anti-oppression, social justice and EDI to come together to learn, heal, grow, share wisdom and take action.

Why shame & fear block your anti-racism practice, and how to release them with Bhavika Patel
Wednesday 8 July, 11am - 1pm BST
Anti-racism work is deeply important and personal, but feelings of shame and fear can often make it difficult to engage fully. In this session, you'll use gentle somatic experiencing and EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) practices to identify and release these nervous-system responses, helping you feel more grounded, regulated, and able to approach social justice work with greater clarity and courage. No prior experience is needed—just a willingness to explore and learn.
About Bhavika
Bhavika Patel is a business psychologist and anti-racism coach who helps organisations address systemic inequality and build more inclusive cultures. Drawing on her lived experience as a disabled woman from the Global Majority, she combines decolonial practice with evidence-based psychology to support meaningful and lasting change. With an MSc in Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology and EMCC Senior Practitioner accreditation, Bhavika works with leaders and boards to examine power, challenge inequitable systems, and turn good intentions into action. She also serves as a Trustee of Rose Hill Junior Youth Club and Co-Chair of the Board at Power & Integrity.
What to expect
The SJC Circle is an online event (via Zoom) that is divided into two main parts: a Keynote section and a breakout space.
For our keynote section we bring to you the leading minds in the field to share their knowledge and experience, and to support you to apply it to your own organisation or practice.
The breakout space is for participants to bring their own current EDI or anti-oppression challenges in order to receive the support and collective wisdom of the SJC Circle.
Check out our videos below for a taste of what to expect at the SJC Circle Keynotes:
