We run an event series called the SJC Circle, which provides a regular space for those committed to anti-oppression, social justice and EDI to come together to learn, heal, grow, share wisdom and take action.

Wednesday 11 February, 11am - 1pm GMT - with Lady Phyll
Join us for a keynote from Lady Phyll - political activist for racial, LGBTQIA+ & gender justice and Co-founder & CEO of UK Black Pride.
Phyll Opoku-Gyimah is the nucleus of the award-winning celebration and protest that is UK Black Pride. Widely known as Lady Phyll – partly due to her decision to reject an MBE in the New Year’s Honours' list to protest Britain’s role in formulating anti-LGBTQI+ penal codes across its empire – she was also the executive director of Kaleidoscope Trust, an organisation working to uphold the human rights of LGBTQI+ people around the world.

What to expect
The SJC Circle is an online event (via Zoom) that is divided into two main parts: a Keynote section and a breakout space.
For our keynote section we bring to you the leading minds in the field to share their knowledge and experience, and to support you to apply it to your own organisation or practice.
The breakout space is for participants to bring their own current EDI or anti-oppression challenges in order to receive the support and collective wisdom of the SJC Circle.
Check out our videos below for a taste of what to expect at the SJC Circle Keynotes:
Martha Awojobi speaking on White supremacy in the UK charity sector
July 2023 SJC Circle
Ruth Ibegbuna speaking on Working Class Justice in the Charity Sector
